SEE OUR BLUE HERON INN FLY FISHING SPECIAL!
Without a doubt, the fly fishing in Southeastern Idaho is among the best in the world. Sportsman from around the globe travel here to experience Idaho's native wild trout legacy. Eastern Idaho provides hundreds of miles of pristine waters to be fished. In addition, several convenient reservoirs are within a short drive with plenty of fish to be caught.
The Blue Heron Inn is affiliated with experienced fly fishing outfitters who know the area's rivers intimately. Take your choice of the South Fork or the Henry's Fork of the Snake, the Teton River, Fall River, or Warm River.
The South Fork flows right behind the Inn and is renowned for it's native cutthroat trout and record-setting waters for brown trout. A guest recently caught a 23 1/2" brown right behind the inn. And the innkeepers will gladly prepare your catch for breakfast.
The best season for fishing the South Fork is from July through October. But there is excellent fishing action all year round. Imagine spending a beautiful sunny day floating the river from a McKenzie River drift boat, viewing abundant wildlife such as deer, moose, and beaver, watching eagles and ospreys fish for dinner, and enjoying lunch along the river. Let the Blue Heron staff customize a fly fishing vacation for you.
So your spouse or significant other doesn't fish? The Blue Heron staff can arrange a day at the spa, a round of golf, horseback riding in the Tetons, a hot air balloon ride, or numerous other activities while you're on the river!
